Description and Lore
The origins of the Mimbu actually lie in the Sclavus. The Sclavus were created from local water snakes by an ancient tribe of Empyrean. These creations were to aid the tribe in their dark rites and rituals. Long after their masters had disappeared, the Sclavus continued performing the rites their masters had commanded, and would have continued in this if not for the Devastation. The magic of the Devastation ripped the former Sclavus race in twain. One half regressed back to their earlier, serpentine form; these devolved creatures retained the Sclavus name. The other half evolved to become smaller, smarter and more magically sensitive creatures. When Tumerok survivors encountered this group, they called them "mimbu," or "foreigners."
The Mimbu maintain a clannish society, which has come to embrace some aspects of the Tumerok religion. For instance, their scarab totems represent Wharu, the Tumerok anima of decay. (The Mimbu are, by nature, great cultural imitators.) The Mimbu have also managed to breed a few giant Darkenfowl, called Watchens, used to guard their larger settlements.
